DOWNLOAD "A TASTE OF LYNNCAIR"

It's a 1/2 hour - 1 hour adventure detailing the beginning of TLS. Basically, treat it as a taste of what is to come from The Lynncairen Saga, which I hope to release eventually in its entirety. The download is about 70Mb, and it contains everything you'll need. Note that you'll have to play as a new level 1 character (male), and that you'll be forced to take the custom "Adventurer" class.

Premise

The year is 854, and there’s something in the air, an almost tangible sensation of anticipation—a feeling of expectation—that momentous events are about to transpire.  Rumors abound—begun by sailors and pirates alike—that tell of an invading army intent on conquering all of Lynncair and enslaving its citizens that approaches from the North, by sea.  These whispers have unnerved Lynncair’s sovereign, King Alandor IV, to the point that he has begun preparing the Stormguard to defend their homeland. If the reports of the seafaring men have even the most miniscule grains of truth to them, Alandor’s actions certainly appear justified—war seems to loom, dark and threatening, on the horizon.

Along with these tidings of war—perhaps coincidentally—is the fact that the 100th anniversary of the Arch-Enchanter Nabul Gyrazzi’s burial is rapidly approaching, and travelers from far and wide are flocking to Kranomyrr, the capital city of Lynncair; everyone wants to be present at the royal necropolis in case the Prophecy of Revelation, uttered by Iyanar Stargleam 100 years ago, had any truth to it...

Under normal circumstances, this exodus towards Kranomyrr wouldn’t affect you in the slightest; your place has always been on the family farm, away from the matters of the rest of the world. But this time, things may be different; several months ago, a man arrived in your sleepy town and, to the surprise of all Brimsdale’s inhabitants, bought the old manor on Hawk's Hill that had been abandoned for years. The old man’s name was Ibram, and he immediately became popular among the younger and older people of Brimsdale alike thanks to his fireside tales of battles from long ago, and stories of legendary heroes and villains.  With the 100th anniversary of Gyrazzi's death just two weeks away, Ibram announced that he had received a private invitation from an old acquaintance to attend the service at the Archenchanter's tomb in the royal necropolis!

The possibility that Gyrazzi’s spirit might return on the 100th anniversary of the his burial to reveal the whereabouts of the legendary Shardstaff was bound to draw hoards to Kranomyrr to witness any events that might transpire, but Ibram assured the townspeople that  he would be able to bypass the inevitable crowds, and was guaranteed to be right up next to the tomb if anything of interest came to pass.

This declaration worried most of the older folk, but obviously the younger, more adventurous of Brimsdale’s citizens—such as yourself—were intrigued by this announcement, and when Ibram added that he would be willing to let several people accompany him, you jumped at the opportunity.

And so, in the face of an impending invasion, you have packed your belongings and prepared to set off for Kranomyrr, to see if the words of a prophet now a century-dead were anything more than the ramblings of a madman...

Campaign Information

The Lynncairen Saga© is an adventure of epic proportions set in the custom world of Lynncair, a long-time brainchild of mine.  The series places the player in a very specific role at the start of the adventure (you start at level 1), giving them a family and a complete back-story.  If you were looking for an adventure for your own favorite custom PC, look elsewhere; this one allows you to pick a name, a portrait, an appearance, and your stats, skills and feats--the rest is preset (you must be human male, you must be an "Adventurer" [custom class]).  It's basically a classic "humble-beginnings" story for a young man that, over the course of the first module in the series, quickly thrusts the protagonist in a compelling plot full of betrayal, intrigue, magic and large-scale war set in a detailed and well-developed world.  The entire story is planned out from start to finish and I'm completely in love with it; it will be released for NWN1.  A demo module, called "A Taste of Lynncair", is available for download above and on the NWVault.

In the brief peek of TLS that has been released on NWN1, you'll find the following custom "stuff": a handful of new setting-specific classes (1 of which player can use, others are for NPC's; there're also a dozen spells & spell-like abilities included, (none of the which the player can use yet, but you'll see them in action), custom vfx's, custom music, custom placeables, sweet new weapons and armor (they really are sweet), and tilesets that I, for one, have never seen used in another NWN module.  What I'm trying to say here is that there'll be a lot of new "stuff" for your enjoyment.  The final version of the module/series will additionally include custom loadhints and loadscreens, as well as well as, possibly, more stuff. :)

Aside from the teaser-like description in italics at the top of this page, please check out The Encyclopedia of Lynncair©, which contains tons of relevant information about the geography, people, places and lore of Lynncair.  It's also worth it to take a peek at the concept art and screenshot galleries.
